Hi Daniel,
When are you coming in Crete? What climbing gear is essential depends what you want to climb. If you want to climb traditional routes then you will need nuts, friends, slings and quick draws. If you fancy sport climbing, just quickdraws (14-16), 60-70m rope and your shoes! Usually I'm out for climbing most of the weekends and occassionaly during the week. I will be more than happy to climb together. By saying "I climb 6-7 routes" are you referring to the climbing grade or what? www.climbincrete.com |

hey.
We're going to Crete on May 20. Will be staying in a hotel in Platanias.
Do you use the helmet as you climb? Yes I meant climbing grades, we are not professional climbers. Thanks for the reply |

I assume you are referring to Platanias in Chania, am I right? If yes, then contact details of an outdoor shop can be found here: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=125223406252 The best area to climb near Chania is the gorge of Therissos. Pleny of routes there, most of them sport. It is good to wear a helmet always. Unfortunately I haven't upload all topos on that area but will soon. www.climbincrete.com |
