Hi,

I will be on the island between 21.5. and 2.6. in the area of Pitsidia/Matala, so near Agio Farango would be my favourite place to climb for a few times. A group / team that will be there in that time and will integrate me, would be perfect.

My experiences are 1 1/2 years climbing in a hall and artificial wall outdoor. Unfortunately no real rocks, but I really have to start and love the idea to start there. My level inside is toprope up to 6, sometimes 6+ and easy routes in lead climbing.

Susanne, do you know how to belay properly?

I might be in Kapetaniana near those dates. I will update this thread when I know for sure. You are more than welcome to join us. I will probably be with a friend.

Belaying properly : I would say yes. I learned grigri and ATC. For toprope and lead climbing. Hope it will be OK for you.

Last weekend I was at Elbsandsteinmountains with my buddy and made my first real-rock experience. its a bit different than hall-climbing...

I hope I will have the chance for a second trip next weekend so I will be better prepared for crete.

Kapetaniana might be a good place. I have heard a lot of this area and it is not THAT far away from Pitsidia. I will have a car from my aunt.

It is very close from Pitsidia both, Agiofarago and Kapetaniana.

Sorry, I didnot post some news between, I had to work a lot.

Are you next sunday at Kapetaniana?  Would be great.

I unfortunately have no helmet, but the basics like shoes, gear, quick-draws, ATC, karabiners. Do I need a helmet? And if - where to get one.

If sunday will be fine (other proposals are welcome) how and where will we meet?

I can't make it for Sunday as I've got a group to lead in sea kayaking and will be away. I'll get in touch on Monday and see if we can meet on Thuesday or Wensday.
