To get to these areas just continue on the dirt track road from the Minoische bibliothek for 300 meters and on your right you will see a sheep stable. Further back from this is the characteristic little rock of Brunnenwand with a tree in the middle. From the same starting point go over the hill opposite Brunnenwand, walk round it (to get view of the sea) and continue W to the Kofinas Waechter grag.

Platten The most frequented area is Platten. Routes of low difficulty with excellent quality of rock and very good protection, as well as many nice routes just like the rest of Kapetaniana.

In order to reach the area you have to follow the dirt track road that passes jut outside the village and after that you must turn left to the first junction and right to the second. After more or less 1 km you will find on your right a very bad dirt track road. The climbing area is right at the end of this dirt-road, which can't be crossed by any vehicle due to it's bad condition. The routes described below are on the characteristic slabs that you will see on your left as you go down. Schafstall area is on the right.

Schafstall The approach is the same as in Platten but in the end we are heading to the right where the routes are. Virtually Platten and Schafstall are the same area. Here we can find more, in number and difficulty, routes than in Platten. Schafstall is the most climbed area because of the variety and the difficulty of the routes are there, but also of the short approach.

Bastion The characteristic of the area is tree that is in the middle of the rock. The 6 routes do not exceed 20 m. You can easily get here continuing right from Platten and Schafstall.

Klettergarten Climbing area that located off the road to Agios Ioannis. Recently equipped with bolts To the right there is a route with an old piton (VII-). Except from this route there are another 4-5 routes fully with bolts. The difficulty of that routes is VIII / VIII+. Schlucht This is very nice canyoning route. Necessary 60 meters ropes are necessary for the abseils. Adventurous in winter, in summer there is less water. Return to Agios Ioannis road by ascending the right slopes above the canyon. If we go down the whole of the canyon we will end up to the beach. Beautiful and enjoyable. Ariadne VI+
