The path goes from the village Asites to the hut (E4) and from the refuge to the top it takes 3 or 3,5 hours of walking. On the ridge of Giristi at 1749 meters there are two routes. The first one called ''Lagos'', grade V, 30 meters and the second called "bivouac'', grade V+ / VI-, 40 meters. As you see these are the only routes, that's why there are no repeats of them.
You will spend your first day in the approach. There is not any good place for the overnight stay except on the summit itself, only possible for a windless night, unless you can find a suitable ledge at the beginning of the route? However Giristi is a very beautiful mountain with a nice view to the Idi mountains and the Libyan sea. This is the only a reason for you to climb here.

Mt Giristi is located above the hut of the Alpine Club of Iraklio. The main problem you will have is the long approach walk (approx. 4 hrs) and the lack water and those are the reasons why nobody has ever climbed there before or after the routes were opened.
