Post subject: Canadian Looking for Beta!

Hi Everyone,

This site is great, thanks for all the information!

I'm a canadian looking to plan a trip to Crete and looking for some information from a local or someone who knows the area well.

We're sport climbers  in the moderate ranges from 5 to 7a.

Which part of the island should we stay on?
Where are the best places to climb sport routes in those moderate ranges?
What are the best activities on rest days?
Best places to eat that shouldn't be missed?

Is there a guide book for the area?

Thanks to all!!!!

James

James, your questions need a week to reply :)

Great sport climbing areas are Therissos in Chania and Agiofarago in Heraklio. Search on our web site and you will find a lot of information.

Be aware that there are much more routes that I haven't published in my web site due tonot having much free time but are easy to find when you are in the area.

If you want to try sea kayak when getting rest from climbing  get in touch with Enjoy-Crete at www.enjoy-crete.com

Cheers

Stelios
