Post subject: Rock climbing partner in Crete

Hi Barbara,

Unfortunately there are just a few people involved into climbing on the island. Drop me a message a few days before your arrival in case I have some free time to climb together.

Cheers

Hello Barbara,

maybe I could help you in June, should you be interested in a partner that climbs well below your standards (I lead climb up to 5b at the moment). I would be happy to show you around, though. Drop me a note here and we'll see.

Post subject: Climbing Partners for June

Hi Barbara and Christina

I'm going to be in Crete from 12 June to early July.  If either of you are still looking for partners, feel free to drop me an email at [email protected].  I'll have a car, gear and climb at around 6b.

Cheers

Jurgen, are you into trad climbing too? I would like to repeat a great 5 pitches route in south Crete (Heraklion) and might go all together if you like.

Post subject: Trad Climbing in Crete

Hi Stelios

Yes, I'd be very interested in joining you on the multi-pitch.  In fact, most of my climbing in Australia, the U.S and the U.K has been trad rather than sport.  I won't be bringing my trad rack with me however, given its weight!

And thanks again for the kind offer.  I have a sense that the climbing community in Crete is very friendly.  I'm really looking forward to meeting many of you when I get there.

My email address is [email protected].  If you send me your email address, I'll drop you a note when I arrive in Crete on 12 June.  Alternatively, I could post on this forum.

Cheers

Post subject: Trad multipitch (Heraklion)

Hi Stelios

I've now arrived in Crete, am based in Rethymnon and have a car.  I've got a few climbing trips organized with helpful folks from your website.  If you are still interested in climbing the five pitch trad climb near Heraklion together, let me know.  I'm flexible on times and dates.

Cheers

Hi Jurgen,

How long you will stay in Crete? I'll see if I can make it for Friday and let you know.

Hi Stelios

I'm here until 10 July.  Actually, I climbed at Plakias today and found it very hard.  I'm heading out to Therisos for some climbing tomorrow so that is probably enough for this week.

If you are though still interested in climbing, I am free throughout the week beginning Monday 25 June.

Cheers

Post subject: Plakias - Therissos

Therissos has also very hard routes. Most of them are above 6a. I finally had some free time for tomorrow and probably on Friday. We can go in Agiofarago tomorrow if you like.

I've sent you an email as well.

Cheers

Post subject: Therissos

Hi Stelios

I've already committed to climb with someone tomorrow at Therissos.  Woud you like to join us?  We met on your excellent website so it would be a pleasure to see you there!  We'll be meeting at Therissos at 8am and climbing in the morning to try and avoid the heat.  My cell phone is +61 428 896 502.  I didn't realize that Therissos was as hard as Plakias so I may be doing quite a bit of belaying!

If you can't make it tomorrow, I'm still free from Monday 25 June to 10 July if you'd like to organize another time.

Cheers

Post subject: Therissos

Thanks for the invitation Jurgen but can't come to Therissos tomorrow as it is quiet far from Heraklio and need to be back early in the afternoon.

Therissos is mostly within shadow as most of the routes are inside the gorge so you wont have a problem with the warm weather.

We'll be in touch.

Happy climbing.

Post subject: Trad

Hi Jurgen,

I've got free time this Friday. If you are ok we can go to do the trad route. We need to be very early there to avoid the sun as much as possible as it is really warm.

Email me or post here for details.

Cheers
