Voulismeno Aloni

Voulismeno Aloni is a sinkhole located on the foot of Strouboulas mountain, next to the old national road, at the 14th kilometer from Heraklion to Rethymnon. You need just a few minutes to get there. There are 12 routes in this climbing sector. All of them are very hard apart from one which is around 6b+ (the first from the right side of the sector). There are routes up to 8a+ in this area.

On the left and on the right of the following photo are the two easiest routes to try (6c/6b+). In the middle are the rest of the routes. All are higher than 6c bolted with a few quickdraws in place.

There is limited chance to open new routes in the area as the rock is loosen in the rest of the area. Possibly 3-4 more but easier than the existing ones. The area is excellent for doing a large traverse too.
